Abstract

The irregular deforestation of more than 240 thousands of hectares from Grande Reserva do Pontal, from 1945 to 1965 for the implementation of large cattle farms or small farms of 5, 10 and 15 acres around urban locations; the preservation of Reserva Florestal do Morro do Diabo - as a real clasp; the implementation of Alcohol Distillery Alcídia S.A.(around 15 thousand hectares of land); the construction of the large hydroelectric plants of Taquaruçu, Rosana and Porto Primavera and the MST´s (Brazilian Landless Rural Workers Movement) action for the agrarian reform in Pontal do Paranapanema create a mosaic of landscapes and regional features in an originally homogeneous area. This area offers a set of very interesting aspects and problems because of its anthropic differentiation. In this paper, the landscape construction process will consider a photographic/image view and the apprehension of the differentiated basic units, mainly from the anthropic action. In a synthesis effort, the flows that contributed to the landscape evolution in this region will also be approached.
