Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the joint and the intertwining of the theories of Heraclitus in Heidegger's thought. Will achieve this purpose by means of an analysis of the fragments of Heraclitus enumerated by Diels-Kranz as 16, 123 and 51. Despite the prominence of these fragments due to their relevance to the topic, other fragments of the Greek thinker are used as a subsidy for the proposed clarifications. Following Heidegger's interpretation of Greek terms used by Heraclitus, one comes to a new understanding of the fragments in question. Taking as starting point the three fragments mentioned, we intend to clarify the meaning and purpose of reading Heidegger.
