Abstract

The aim of this paper is to identify the relation between art and history, and between literature and tradition. Some elements such as the unique character of literature, the authenticity, the narrator and how art is evaluated will be discussed, considering the social historical approach. For this purpose, we chose Walter Benjamin to give support to the study about the narrative from oral tradition to the novel.

Possui graduação em Letras Português Inglês pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2004) e mestrado em Letras, área de Estudos Literários (Literatura: teorias críticas e história) pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2006). Atualmente (agosto/2007), iniciou o doutorado em Letras pela UNESP, campus de Assis-SP. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Teoria da Literatura e Literatura Portuguesa, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: teoria da literatura, literatura portuguesa, José Saramago e crítica sociológica, entre outros Currículo Lattes
