Abstract

This study gives continuance for a research entitled “Collective Transport of Maringá City: reality and proposals”. Aiming to rationalize the communication among the main agents of the Transport System and to optimize the citizens moving by the Transport System, we tried to develop, at a first phase, the conceptual modeling of data. We developed an adapted model to different users, which was tested in order to evaluate their reading level and understand of information. The results offered patterns to follow in the work out and presentation of the information and, also, permitted to evidence that a big part of the population does not achieve an elementary reading of graphic information; this population could be described as “illiterate” in cartographic language. These facts should direct the future introduction of the Geographic Information System (GIS) for Public Transport in the city

Fernando Luiz de Paula Santil, UEM
Fernando Luiz de Paula Santil concluiu o mestrado em Engenharia Cartográfica Prudente pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho em 2001. Cursa doutorado em Ciências Geodésicas pela Universidade Federal do Paraná desde 2003. Atualmente é Professor assistente da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Publicou 16 artigos em periódicos especializados e 21 trabalhos em anais de eventos. Possui 30 itens de produção técnica. Participou de 13 eventos no Brasil. Orientou 1 trabalho de iniciação científica e 1 trabalho de conclusão de curso nas áreas de Geociências, Geografia, Engenharia de Transportes e Enfermagem. Atua na área de Geociências, com ênfase em Cartografia Básica. Em suas atividades profissionais interagiu com 80 colaboradores em co-autorias de trabalhos científicos. Em seu currículo Lattes os termos mais freqüentes na contextualização da produção científica, tecnológica e artístico-cultural são: cartografia, geografia, sistema de informação geográfica, carta, mapa, ensino de geografia, cartografia temática, climatologia, sensoriamento remoto e cartografia escolar Currículo Lattes
