<b>Empirical evidence of return migration towards the state of Parana, Brazil
Abstract
Current study analyzes the interstate return migration to the state ofParana,Brazil, by flows and yield spreads. Information from the 2011 National Survey by Household Sampling IBGE is employed and yield equations are estimated. Evidence suggests that the southeastern region ofBrazil attracts the greatest number of people from the state of Paraná. It also comprises the highest proportion of migrants and return migrants to the state, next to the Southern region. Results show the returning people to the state of Paraná are best selected for the labor market when compared to those who failed to migrate. Further, people who migrated from other Brazilian states still have the highest yield.
