The influence of positivism and historicism in education and in the teaching of history
Abstract
The aim of the present paper is to discuss the structure of the positivistic philosophy, developed by Auguste Comte in the nineteenth century with the objective of disseminating the necessity for order to make progress viable, and the ideas of Leopold von Ranke who advocated scientific neutrality, thus showing the influence of these autors in the establishment of the public school system and in the teaching of History.Downloads
