Abstract

Comprehension is provided on how a group of teachers from the 5^th to the 8^th grade of a government junior high school in Maringá, state of Paraná, Brazil develop their teaching abilities on water as a subject matter. Investigation is related to discussions held within the community in the context of water scarcity leading towards a worldwide crisis. Since teachers are responsible for teaching and learning, research shows how the teachers think, organize and develop their activity in classroom.

Author Biography

Lizete Shizue Bomura Maciel, UEM

É graduada em Pedagogia pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (1975); pós-graduada em nível de Mestrado (1985) e Doutorado (1994) em Educação (Currículo) pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. É desde 1986 docente da Universidade Estadual de Maringá; atualmente encontra-se na categoria de Associado, nível C. Tem experiências na área de Educação, com ênfase em Educação Superior (Formação de Professores, Prática Pedagógica e Preconceito). Desenvolve atividades docentes na graduação em Pedagogia e na Pós-graduação em Educação (PPE). Participa como membro do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Formação de Professores e Prática Pedagógica e é líder do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Educação, Preconceito e Formação de Professores. É organizadora de vários livros, autora de capítulos de livros e de artigos publicados em revistas nacionais e internacionais Currículo Lattes
