Abstract

In the lastest years, the population and economical growth in the center-south of Paraná State translates expressive urbanization rates that added to the increasing necessity of provision housing, cause serious socioenvironmental problems that can be observed easily in the urban landscape. The present work weaves some reflections regarding the urbanization and of the socioenvironmental problems in the center-south of Paraná State. It also evaluates the relationship among the low income population comparing to the socioenvironmental in indicators in the urban context. Starting from the accomplished observations, it was verified that a great number of the regional urban population presents rural characteristics in the urban area. That population surpasses the appropriation capacity and also the limits of home spaces.
