Developments in trade relations of the southern Brazil states with Mercosur member countries, from 2010 to 2015
Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the evolution of trade relations between Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina with Mercosur member countries: Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela, in the period from 2010 to 2015. The aim is to understand the behaved the trade balance of each state in relation to the South of Brazil in relation to the block. The methodological procedures used to reach the objective of the study were bibliographic review and descriptive statistics. The results indicate that trade with Mercosur was more advantageous for the state of Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul was the state of the southern region of Brazil that presented the worst commercial relations with Mercosur.
