Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify and evaluate the consolidation levels of the aspects of interaction, cooperation and joint actions in the productive arrangement of clothing sector in Maringá (Brazil). In this work, the studied region refers to the city of Maringá, northwestern Paraná State, Brazil. The methodological instrument consisted of field research, conducted within a sample of businesses, using questionnaires. The cooperation in the arrangement appears as the most fragile aspect, as most micro and small companies have never gone through such an experience. Furthermore, interaction among the agents has shown to be relatively incipient and represents limitations to the consolidation of the productive arrangement in Maringá. Considering the presence of the clothing industry and its contribution to job creation in Maringá, it demonstrates the importance of studies that have been developed as basis for public and private support policies aiming at the development and consolidation of the productive arrangement and, consequently, of its region.
