Representations of professional and technological education (EPT) in São Gabriel da Cachoeira - Amazonas
Abstract
Professional and Technological Education (EPT), a relevant educational modality, is structured with the purpose of promoting training in the exercise of professions in addition to experience, critical and reflective,end citizenship. The article presented here aims to investigate the trajectory of Professional and Technological Education in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira based on the reports of subjects who have experienced this process. To this end, the narrative approach was used as a methodological strategy with the intention of approaching and understanding the investigated phenomenon from the experience of people in their daily lives. For its materialization, a narrative interview was applied to 08 (eight) informants during the year 2022. Considering the ethical elements of the research, the data constructed from the aforementioned technique were analyzed in the light of the analysis theme. As a result, it was observed that the informants' representation is based on 03 (three) fundamental elements for understanding the EPT in São Gabriel da Cachoeira: i) the EPT as a practice of missionary action; ii) EPT as State action; iii) EPT as threads that run into the future. Finally, it is highlighted that the research contributes, in a scientific way, as a documentary source for the construction of future public policies in this educational segment in the context of this Amazon region.
