<b>Being or staying in place?: an essay about spatiality, memories and identities
Abstract
This essay aims to debate about the way the relationship occurs between being and staying in place and how this relationship can be understood in the contemporaneity. To this end, memory and identity are considered central concepts to grasp the sense and meaning of place. By means of a cultural approach in geography, with a post-modern aspect of science, it intends to elaborate an essay of theoretical-methodological character using texts of diverse areas, promoting interdisciplinary thought. In this way, it is understood that, for the subject, the dialectic of remembering and belonging to its place is always alive and dynamic, so as to promote a creative devir in his/her lifeworld. Being and staying in place represents and amalgam of senses that give complexity to the subjects past, present and future life.
