<b>Literature and suicide: reading operators
Abstract
This article aims at offering some possible reading operators for the development of analyzes on the issue of suicide in literature. The proposal rises from the verification that, despite self-destruction being a constant subject in literary manifestations from the most diverse times, we seem not to have a tradition of studies looking at it with greater attention. In face of such problem, and trying not to build a rigid systematization, we develop here some reflections on possibilities of approach and theoretical and critical directions, hoping to contribute for the elaboration of a consistent field of analysis of suicide in studies on literature and other artistic manifestations.
