Entrevista com professor Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho
Abstract
In this Interview, we talked with professor Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho, one of the main Brazilian linguists. Its name is associated with the most important collective research projects that have researched the Brasilian Portuguese, since the 1970s, such as the NURC, the Grammar of Spoken Portuguese and the Para História do Português Brasileiro. His most recent works suggest that linguistic research should be based on what he calls a multisystemic approach to language, which is conceived as a dynamic and complex object. In addition to conducting numerous researches aimed at describing Brasilian Portuguese in use, Castilho also has been contributing to teaching and learning of language, with his proposal to insert the observation of oral processes in the classroom and his reflection on linguistic norms.
