Denominative terminological variation in the specialized text: sociocommunicative aspects in scientific and scientific dissemination articles on the sugarcane universe
Abstract
The present text is a report of a research in the field of Terminology that seeks to analyze how the terminological denominational variation is presented in texts from different spheres of the same specialized universe. It is assumed that denominational variation is not random and occurs so that specialized communication can be adapted according to different specialized contexts. The assumptions of the Communicative Theory of Terminology and some of its reverberations, such as the study of causes of variation and Textual Terminology, are taken as a theoretical-methodological assumption. For the analysis, two texts from the specialized universe of sugarcane were selected, which have different purposes: a scientific article and a popularization article. The analysis sought to present aspects of lexicon, text and communication in the specialized universe of sugarcane. The result showed that variation occurs in both analyzed texts, but that it presents itself in different ways. For this result, it is hypothesized that, from the point of view of the communicative constitution and the rules of relations between the individuals of the specialized group, factors such as theme, symmetry and objectives condition the variation found. It is concluded that, therefore, variation is conditioned by linguistic and functional factors that organize and support the relationship between individuals in a community of specialists.
