MONITORIA VIRTUAL NA DISCIPLINA DE ANATOMIA HUMANA DURANTE A PANDEMIA DA COVID-19: UM RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA

Abstract

With the registration of the first cases of COVID-19 in Brazil in February 2020, face-to-face classes were suspended, resulting in the need for online activities. At the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), mentoring is a complementary training activity of voluntary nature. Due to the sanitary context, the Emergency Digital Monitoring Program was instituted. Since then, mentoring has been developed virtually. The objective of this work is to report the experience of anatomy monitors students of the Medicine course at UFPR Campus Toledo, critically analyzing the situations experienced. Mentoring was carried out during the second Emergency Remote Teaching (ERE2), between November 2020 and March 2021, aimed at students of the first period and conducted by two monitors of the second period. Contents on the anatomy of bones, muscles, ligaments, joints, and renal and gastrointestinal systems were developed. With ERE2, there was a loss of the visual element of anatomy teaching due to the lack of contact with 3D anatomical structures, especially cadavers, demanding access to alternative means such as virtual atlases. The correlation between academic performance and learning was compromised by the possibility of consulting the internet and literature during exams. Despite the limitations of ERE2, future experiences with remote teaching must 1) guarantee access for students, monitors and professors to a good quality virtual atlas and 2) have an examination method that allows a better correlation between academic performance and apprenticeship.
