Abstract

Considering the nursing research context, higher learning and professional formation are increasingly recurring themes. This reflects the concern with the capacity and the formative quality of our schools, as well as their direct effects on the quality of both the professional conduct and health assistance. The aim of this study is to reveal the impressions of teachers on the probation evaluative practice, focusing on the evaluation instruments. This is a qualitative-descriptive research that applies interviews to teachers of a public university by using the content analysis as the methodological tool. The study revealed the difficulty of accomplishing the evaluative process in probation based only on the standardized instrument, and that the construction of an ideal model would imply a collective, integrated and contextualized work.
