Constructs of pediatric nursing education in a university from southern Brazil, 1991-2006 - doi: 10.4025/cienccuidsaude.v11i2.12288
Abstract
The objective was to examine the constructs from knowledge production in the course conclusion work (CCW) in a University from Southern Brazil. Documentary research with qualitative and quantitative analysis approach was carried out. The previous selection took place by reading the titles and abstracts, considering the words: newborn, toddler, preschool, pediatric nursing and its variants, from 1991 to 2006. From a total of 533 CCW, 79 were selected corresponding to child health (14.82%). From the analysis, the constructs: health education, humanization and family, emerged. As a result, there has been concern about the caregiving process, with innovative strategies and methodologies. The child was not approached in an isolated way but as part of the family and their socio-economic-cultural context, emphasizing the relationship between the binomial child/family and nursing team. It was concluded that, when giving visibility to the production of knowledge in Pediatric Nursing, we wish for a professional work that inserts the family in the child caregiving process found in health education and in humanization. With that, we envision the construction of a theoretical framework that influences the praxis of Pediatric Nursing.
