Abstract

This study discusses the proposals with regard to assistant given to children in the ambit of basic healthcare system, present on national policies for children. A documentary analysis of policy proposals relating to primary care and children in three documents from the existing Ministry of Health 2003-2006 was carried out. For the treatment of documentary evidence, the technique of content analysis was chosen. Inconsistencies were found between the documents analyzed according to the National Health System (SUS) and the prospect of completeness. The changes and advances in the field of health care are immense since the introduction of SUS and, specifically, after consolidation of the Family Health Program as a model of reorienting the axis of primary care, but gearing up the perspective for integrality on child health, there is still a long way to go, which requires the collective effort on the part of professionals, managers and community.
