Abstract

Aiming to analyze the process of production of data and information for the Prenatal Information System (SISPRENATAL) at the central management level of Cuiaba-MT a descriptive exploratory study, with a qualitative approach was carried out, at the Coordination of the Primary Health Care of the city. The subjects of the study were: a professional responsible for the computerized system of the SISPRENATAL and managers from the Primary Health Care Unit. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews carried out with the subjects. Analysis of the data, using the technique of thematic content analysis, showed the existence of peculiar aspects and obstacles on the production of reliable information concerning the factual assistance rendered to pregnant and puerperae women on the work regarding the production of data and information for the SISPRENATAL management at the municipal level in Cuiabá. The results pointed to the need of training for managers as well as to better adequate the technological structure for SISPRENATAL computerized system, coordination between the works of different professional groups and supervise the data production as a form of local support.
