It used semi-structured interviews and the data were processed by Content Analysis, which fell into two categories: The finding of differences between training and the demands of the institution for nursing management and understanding about what it is to have jurisdiction management in the view of higher education institutions and daily work. It was concluded that there are inaccuracies of comprehension regarding the management practice in the world of work, diverging, oftentimes, from this professional’s educational bases, and for nurses to develop care and administrative processes in an integrated way there should be consistency between their academic training and work.
