Safe legal abortion for pregnant by rape: nursing care for women attended in a public service of Campinas city – SP

Abstract
The Brazilian Legal Code describes two situations in which the abortion is not considered a crime, denominated legal abortion: when pregnancy occurs after rape and when there is maternal death risk. More than half of the sexual violence cases happens during the reproductive period; when a pregnancy occurs, the option in favor or against the abortion is a woman´s right of to choose. Our aim was to describe the nursing care in a public university hospital of the city of Campinas/SP developed to the women who decided to interrupt the pregnancy by rape. It was followed the nursing process phases. The main nursing diagnoses of the NANDA-I are identifying subsequent to anamnesis and physical examination, and the nursing interventions are based in institutional protocols for sexual violence care and Health Ministry recommends. The nursing interventions occur at three distinct moments: in pre-hospitalization, during hospitalization and in outpatient follow-up. The nursing process providing to women individual, integral and humanized care, and collaboration to treatment adhesion and physical, psychological and social recovery and management nursing assistance with quality and safety.Downloads
