Oral health care in pregnancy and the perception of family health nurse

Abstract
This work is a study of nurses' perceptions of the health strategy of the family of meanings and feelings that underlie the knowledge and attention to oral health care organization and oral health during prenatal care conducted in primary care. The research is descriptive qualitative approach using the collective subject discourse. The target population of 37 nurses in family health strategy of the Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul. Collection of data from semi-structured interview was conducted between April and June 2010, with a convenience sample, composed for 10 interviews, bounded by the saturation of responses and thematic analysis. Nurses demonstrate uncertain knowledge about oral health care during pregnancy, including the need to record the oral examination of the pregnant woman on the card. See lifelong learning as a solution to remedy the ignorance about it and believe that the burden of administration interferes with the health unit nursing care and interaction with the team.Downloads
