Abstract
In February 2004, according to the Law 198/GM/MS, the Federal Health Department implemented a National Policy for Permanent Education, aiming to provide formation and continuous training to health professionals in order to attend the actual needs of the population, according to the principles of the United System of Health Care. In this study we propose a critical reflection regarding its use in hospital institutions. Permanent education is understood as an educative process which allows a space for thinking and accomplishment at the work, highlighting the fundamental role of health institutions for the permanent development of the workers abilities, contributing for their social well-being. It can also be understood as an action which gives to the individuals greater capacity of interfere in his/her work environment, as a human being who builds and destroys, oriented by political, cultural and moral values. Thus, we believe in the need of creating and implementing public educational policies that contribute positively for the promotion of health, motivating collaborative work among teachers, students, professionals, managers and community, aiming at the well-being of the individual and the group.Downloads
