Abstract
The aim of the present study is to identify categories of psychosocial risks related to work and potentially leading to stress. This approach provides to the workers awareness to the subject and contributes for the management of these risks at the workplace. Scientific journals, guidelines and official documents published from 1984 to 2006 were analyzed. The results showed that psychosocial risks related to the organizational aspects, planning and work management may lead to stress. Some of these psychosocial risks include: low levels of support to solving problems, ambiguity and conflict role performance, career uncertainty, low participation in the work decision-making process, failure in the personal interrelationships, conflicting demands from work and home, lack of variety in the job, overwork and undesirable work schedule. This study enhances the importance of participation of the institutions identifying and controlling job psychosocial risks. Interventions focused in the organization can modify the stressors at the workplace improving the organizational structure, providing better conditions of work, training, autonomy at work and changes on personal interrelationships.Downloads
