Educational video on oncological chemotherapy: technology in health education

Abstract

Objective: To describe the stages of construction of an educational video for patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy. Method: a study on the development of educational technology in an oncology service of a teaching hospital in the south of Rio Grande Sul. The construction of the material took place from March 2016 to April 2017, and was attended by professionals. specialists from the oncology service considered in the study as expert judges. It was developed through four steps: literature review, analysis of collected data and script construction, script evaluation by judges and audiovisual editing. Results: the results include the description of the script and the content of the video as a proposal for health education for patients undergoing chemotherapy. Conclusion: Educational Video is an important health education tool for people on chemotherapy, and can be used mainly in nursing consultation, which should prioritize welcoming in order to minimize side effects and favor adherence to treatment.

Nurse graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande (2014). Specialist in Oncology Nursing at the School Hospital of the Federal University of Pelotas (2017). Has experience in Nursing in medical, surgical and oncology clinics. Currently working in the project experiences of young adults with cancer in the cultural perspective of Madeline Leninger.

Graduated in Nursing and Obstetrics from the Federal University of Pelotas (1988), Master's degree in Nursing from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2000) and PhD in Fundamental Nursing from the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing at the University of São Paulo (2008). He is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Pelotas. Leader of the Chronic Conditions Center and its Interfaces - NUCCRIN / UFPel. Has experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing - Adult Health, focusing on Oncology, acting on the following subjects: chronic disease, family, culture, oncology.

Daniela Habekost Cardoso, Universidade Federal de Pelotas

Graduated in nursing from the Faculty of Nursing (FEn) of UFPel in 2007. Specialist in Oncology from the Multiprofessional Integrated Residency Program in Health / Oncology Concentration Area, UFPel School Hospital, in 2012. Master of Science, 2014. Doctoral student of the Nursing Graduate Program at FEn / UFPel. Acting mainly on the following topics: cancer nursing, palliative care, death and dying process and resilience.
