Abstract
A multidimensional assessment of the aged occurs when investigating: individual conditions, functional, cognitive, emotional, familial, social, use of support networks. This study aimed at verifying the knowledge produced by nurses in brazilian journals indexed in the database SCOPUS on the multidimensional assessment of the aged in the period 2005 to 2009. Integrative review conducted in the second half of 2009. In the data collection followed the steps: establishment of criteria for inclusion, choice of descriptors, development of an instrument of data collection, source location, the instrument to collect data on items that met the inclusion criteria. The analysis was by analytical reading, considering: the texts, themes, interpretation and synthesis. Found 102 items, 92, on various themes related to the Gerontogeriatry / Care for the elderly and ten, on the Multidimensional Assessment of the Elderly. The multidimensional approach to assessment was more use of on functional assessment, and the Katz Index as the most used and being more present in the aged resident and assisted by units of Strategy Family Health, followed by the institutionalized aged. Nurses have developed tools for multidimensional assessment of the aged more consistent with the context of caring for the aged, under its responsibility.Downloads
