The nurse in care for elderly people: construction of the bond in Primary Health Care
Abstract
Objective: to understand the role of nurses in the Family Health Strategy and how the bond between this professional and the elderly person is built. Methods: qualitative, descriptive research, with 30 nurses working in the Joinville Family Health Strategy, interviewed from January and March 2018. A semi-structured interview instrument was used. Data were analyzed according to thematic content analysis. Results: the results of this research reveal how the nurse's bond building with the elderly occurs, as well as the role of this professional in Primary Health Care. Final considerations: it is understood that nurses are immersed in a bond building process in their units and are protagonists, in the sense that they are a reference for the team and for the management of certain actions, however, there is a long way to go until these skills are in accordance, methodologically, with what they postulate best practices of nursing. It is recommended that further studies that explore these skills found in nurses and experiment with alternatives for the use of such characteristics be carried out in Primary Health Care.
