Abstract
The Family Health Program (FHP) and the psychosocial attention are strategies integral to the Brazilian Public Health System. Both require, for its effectiveness, besides the implantation of units of assistance, major changes in the rendered work and care. In the present study, the repercussion of training in mental health accomplished by FHP teams of Cuiabá-MT is analyzed. The exploratory-descriptive research is based on presuppositions of the dialectic-historical materialism, and studied eight teams through analysis of documents, interviews and observation. The thematic analysis identified the categories: location and composition of teams, selection of work in the FHP, training for the work and work management. The results point that the construction of a net of psychosocial assistance including the FHP is made possible by non-separable processes of work and management and it requires continuous training with critical focus on the biomedical model, which should be a responsibility of workers, directors and institutions.Downloads
