Abstract
The Best Early Childhood Program is a program aimed at promoting integral development in early childhood. The study aimed to ascertain the perceptions of the visitor in the context of its activities in the Best Early Childhood Program, strengths and weaknesses in the activities it performs, in a qualitative methodological approach exploratory descriptive and data were analyzed using the technique of content analysis. Data collection took place in 2008, with 256 surveyors who agreed to participate in the stud. All participants signed an Informed Consent, delivered by mail or in person on the courses of the program along with the devolution of the instrument search completed. Study participants came from 38 of the 217 municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where the Best Early Childhood Program was implanted at that time, writing a profile of visitor activities carried forward to the program. To act as visitor requires a constant search for knowledge and improvement, management beliefs and cultures of families, a way of being and of relating specific recognition of families in home visits, whether planning activities consistent to each reality and consults with professionals from the health Program. This study contributes to the selection and qualified training of visitors, as well as to its appropriate role in community action in the Best Early Childhood Program.Downloads
