Abstract
The diagnosis of cancer during pregnancy is rare and the literature on the subject scarce. The nurse in primary care is the active agent for early detection of breast cancer and uterine cervix, as among his competences is the colposcopy exam and the clinical breast exam. With the above views, this report presents the results of literature search held in the LILACS database, between April and September 2008, which aimed to analyze the scientific production about breast cancer and uterine cervix during pregnancy. In the research, descriptors such as cancer and pregnancy were used, resulting in 596 articles. When the inclusion criterion was applied only 20 were analyzed from the approach presented, namely: clinical, epidemiological or pregnant women with cancer as subject of care. In the analysis it was found that there are few studies aimed to understand the impact of the experience of cancer during pregnancy in the subjectivity of women and few epidemiological studies on the issue as well, revealing certain indifference on the theme by the scientific community and health professionals, including the nurse. It points to the need of more research on the topic in order to subsidize and encourage the establishment of practices in preventive care to pregnant women.Downloads
