Abstract
This study is about a report of an experience had in an Oncological Interdisciplinary Home Admission (PIDI) which gives paliative care. Home hospitalization is created in our country as an alternative for health assistance in an individualized and humanized way, suitable, mainly, for the users who have chronic diseases. In the municipality of Pelotas, southern state of Rio Grande do Sul since 2005 has been implemented the Oncology Interdisciplinary Home Hospitalization Program (PIDI Oncology) in the Hospital Escola da Univesidade Federal de Pelotas and Fundação de Apoio Universitaria with the aim of providing home support for users who have cancer in order to complement the cycle of integral care, since the aforementioned institution is a reference in the treatment of this disease. This study has the aim of describing the working methodology used by the PIDI Oncology team. It has been observed that the working methodology of the PIDI Oncology team appears as a strategy for health assistance, innovative, based in a different perception about the process health/disease, which contemplates the individual and his relatives in his home, in which space, social dimensions and affection take place. It has been observed also the satisfaction by the professionals involved in the team due to the interdisciplinary work which makes possible the reduction of problems and consequently collective solution.Downloads
