Abstract
This study sought to describe and analyze the use of the action research as a tool for teachers’ training about sexual issues for students’ education. Qualitative research in a descriptive approach based on the action research with 28 teachers of a public school in Goiania, GO. The data collection occurred from April, 2006 to March, 2007, through group meetings, which were recorded and descriptively analyzed based on the theoretical frame. The result is presented and discussed with the process of becoming aware of the group for including sexuality as a crosscutting theme in the institution's political pedagogical project, as well as the organization of content and strategies to be implemented. It was concluded that the action research constitutes a powerful tool for teachers’ training that was immediately incorporated into the routine of school knowledge collectively produced during research. Finally, the importance of the University to be a partner in the process of training the teachers of the basic education committed to social responsibility is highlighted.Downloads
