First meeting of nursing students and users of a nucleus for psychosocial care

Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to know the graduate students perception on Nursing regarding their first interaction with the users of a nucleus of psychosocial care. This kind of assessment helps the students recognize their own limitations and the resources that are available to make some improvements. Data were collected through description how each one perceives such experience. The data discussion was based on the referential of the therapeutic interpersonal relationship. Some answered that they found the patients calm, receptive, with needs of talking and attentive to the activities, pleased with the presence of students, communicative and euphoric; others felt the users concerned, apprehensive, in a thoughtful mood or with difficulties to communicate. In relation to themselves, they were impressed with the receptivity, they felt confident, with no difficulties to approach the users, surprised with the good interaction and felt close to the users. One student mentioned it was not therapeutic, because he felt fear and difficulties.Downloads
