Abstract

This work describes the expansion of the nursing, characterizing its tendency of moving from the preventive area to the curing one, with consequent alteration of the male nurse's functions in order to assist the existent demand. The focus of our concern is the reflection concerning the real and possible functions of nursing, having as reference point the prevention and the cure.

Sandra Marisa Pelloso, UEM - Maringá
ptualmente é professor associado da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Enfermagem, com ênfase em Enfermagem Obstétrica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: pré natal, mortalidade materna, neoplasias (colo e mama), planejamento familiar , violência e doenças cronico degenerativas.
