SISTEMA DE ALUGUEIS DE BICICLETA COMO POLÍTICA PÚBLICA: EXTERNALIDADES ECONÔMICAS E AMBIENTAIS A PARTIR DE UM ESTUDO DE CASO PARA CURITIBA EM 2016
Abstract
The present work sought to identify the benefits and characteristics of bicycle use as a means of transportation and as a factor generating a positive externality to the environment and society. An analysis was made of how public policies in several countries of the world have been adopted with the purpose of transforming urban locomotion by bicycle, contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution, in addition to making it a consolidated social practice. The greatest success found was the Bicycle Rental System (BRS), which led to great acceptability and use of this mode of transportation in Brazil and worldwide. Finally, a case study is carried out for the city of Curitiba, seeking to identify if it is viable the implantation of an BRS in that city. The results found were that bicycle use, through a possible BRS, in the case study it was concluded that it is better environmentally, socially and individually.
