Abstract

As a result of the evolution that Accounting has had in recent years, some bibliometric studies have been carried out, similarly to what happens in other areas of knowledge. Thus, the present work aims to examine bibliometrically the profile of authors in Accounting from papers published in the USP Congress on Comptrollership and Accounting and in the ANPCONT Accounting Congress in the years 2009 and 2010. Hence, the research showed that the greatest concentration is 2 authors per paper, equivalent to 35% of the sample. In addition, most authors are male (68%). Results also showed that many authors, 407, have published only one paper, whereas others published more, the most prolific presenting 11 works. In this context, the University of Sao Paulo (USP) was the institution that provided most authors related, 83, followed by Fucape, with 64, and the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB), with 31 papers.
