GEOECONOMIC DYNAMICS OF THE ORANGE JUICE PRODUCTIVE CHAIN IN THE NORTH PIONEER MESOREGION OF PARANÁ AND THE ROLE OF BNDES
Abstract
From the 2000s, Brazil underwent a reconstruction in several productive chains in the agricultural sector, the result of new macroeconomic conjunctures, and especially by a Federal Government with a political platform of a developmental nature, with BNDES as the principal investment driving agent. Thereby, the North Pioneer Mesoregion also went through a process of productive restructuring in the same period, with the insertion of new productive chains in its territory. Thus, the present article has the purpose of demonstrating the geoeconomic dynamics of the orange juice productive chain in this region and its relationship with the credit capital from the BNDES. For this work, it was used bibliographic and field researches as methodological instruments. The results point at new geoeconomic dynamics in the region from the implementation of the industrial orange juice procession plant of the Integrated Cooperative in Uraí and the dynamization the other elements of the referred chain in the North Pioneer and in other locations in Paraná and the State of São Paulo, combined to a close relationship with the investment capitals from the BNDES.
