Abstract

The article begins with the analysis of documentary Cartola (2007), Lírio Ferreira and Hilton Lacerda intend to analyze the relationship of aggregation that Cartola established with the participants of the universe of Samba. The analysis seeks to offer opportunities to work with the documentary in the classroom. The central argument of the analysis is based on the idea of self (or self-preservation) personified by Angenor de Oliveira, Cartola (1908-1980). Self-preservation is thought here in the sense of seeking to maintain and continue the exercise of subjectivity required by the subject under review by Cartola. As final remarks, offer some clues to work in the classroom.
