WHY TO TEACH A CRITICAL GEOGRAPHY?
Abstract
This small manual aims at a critical critique of geography, the discipline of school teaching, from the teaching and learning discussion. This aim, which extends to the longitudinal of the XXth century, was based on a theoretical exposition focused, mostly, on a memorization of contents. In this way, physical and natural reliefs, to the detriment of social dynamics, were done in a descriptive way, without related and critical depths. In this way, we seek ways of teaching that privilege the possibilities of access to the whole. For this, it was presented, although briefly, the suggestions of didactics with a mapping application for a better critical development of the students. Methodologically, it was used as a bibliographical material that approached the theme of teaching and cartography from a geography perspective.Downloads
