Abstract
The postural control and balance are key elements for achieving high performance in sport, such as in archery, for example, where great part of the athlete’s attention is focused on improving it. The objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics of foot-balance in novice archery athletes, in the process of initiation in the modality. Thirteen young male adults (22 ± 2 years) participated in the study. For the evaluation of the balance was used the system balance (Chattecx Balance System) with a frequency of 100Hz and the data collection had an average duration of 20 s. In the data collection sessions, the subjects performed 9 attempts, being 3 attempts in orthostatic posture without equipment. After, using the equipment and making the stance of shooting and the shooting of arrows, the subjects made 3 attempts to a distance of 30cm and other 3 performed in the shooting posture with a distance considered the most appropriate for the subject. A descriptive analysis of the data was executed. The results showed that the stance of shooting provides instability for the newcomer and this instability provides fluctuations in the antero-posterior position and center-lateral.Downloads
