Abstract

This study reports on the systematical validation process to construct a tactical declarative knowledge test in tennis through game video scenes in final situations. Psychometric procedures directed to theoretical validation were followed to verify: content validity and reliability testing through objectivity of agreement between observers (CEO) and ecological validity. Besides it was possible to implement a feedback of points’ values to the test containing possible decision making as well as to standardize a scale of relevance of perceptual signals per item. The results show how scenes of decision making situations in tennis games can be validated items with agreement values above 0.80. Validation process began with 192 game scenes and ended with the approval of 20 scenes – items – for the creation of the test of tactical declarative knowledge in tennis.
