Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the shared experience of postgraduate professors in teaching the discipline of qualitative research methods at the Postgraduate Program of Human Movement Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The article is organized in five main topics: ethnography, historiographical research, discourse analysis, visual data analysis, and research ethics. For each topic a theoretical framework are sketched and some examples of how to use it based on the research work carried out by postgraduate students are presented.
