Abstract

This work aims to discuss how the Brazilian State, under the pretext of disseminating public and legal security, instrumentalizes the police force to legitimize the destruction of useless bodies, specifically, regarding the modus operandi of the militarized police. In order to answer the question: Who is public security for? To this end, qualitative and quantitative research was carried out in academic and bibliographic sources, as well as legislative research. As a result, it was concluded that public security is a fiction created at the state level to perpetuate the repressive attitudes of the entity, consequently stigmatizing bodies and expanding the limits of state intervention.
