Abstract

This paper deals with properties of lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) with Metacaulim, made with Brazilian lightweight aggregate (LWA). Compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and water absorption were tested. The inclusion of Metacaulim in the LWAC decreased water absorption and increased compressive strength and splitting tensile.

    Possui graduação em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade de São Paulo (1993), mestrado em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de São Paulo (1999) e doutorado em Ciência e Eng. de Materiais com Sanduí­che no LNEC pela Universidade de São Paulo (2003). Atualmente é professor doutor da Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos - Universidade de São Paulo.
