precast reinforced concrete ribs, finite element modelAbstract
One of the most common applications of precast concrete is done on ribbed slabs. A relatively recent conception emerged from precast concrete ribs with three-dimensional truss reinforcement. The use of expanded polystyrene (EPS) blocks as a core material is possible in substitution of ceramic elements. To take into account the effect of concrete cracking on slab deformation, some theoretical models were considered in this work. These models were based on the moment-curvature equation of Ghalli and Frave and of Branson, using linear and non-linear solutions, through computer programs SAP2000® and ANSYS®. The theoretical values were compared to experimental data of beams tested under four-point loading. Also tested was a numerical solution for three-dimensional analysis of beams, based on the element solid65 available in the program ANSYS®, which allows non-linear analysis of solids with structural reinforcement as the reinforced concrete.Downloads
