Abstract

Knowledge of phenological and productive behavior of grapevines for winemaking and grape juice elaboration, such as ‘Jacquez’ (Vitis bourquina) in northern Paraná, is extremely important, so that local grape growers have the possibility of diversifying production and increase income in their properties. The phenological and productive behavior of the ‘Jacquez’ grapevine was evaluated in Maringá, Paraná state. The following characteristics were evaluated: duration of the cycle (pruning to harvest), production characteristics, chemical properties of berries as total soluble solids contents (TSS), titratable acidity (TA) and TSS/TA ratio. The results evidenced that the cycle duration of this grapevine was 137.5 days; its productivity was of 37 t ha-1 and 14.8 kg plant-1. At the moment of the harvest, the must of the berries presented 16.94ºBrix and 1.15% tartaric acid. Considering the results, the ‘Jacquez’ grapevine resulted promising for processing purposes when cultivated in northern Paraná
