Abstract
This essay aims to present and discuss the three foundational works of so-called Cultural Studies (originating from the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies at Birmingham), seeking to serve as an introductory guide to the critical thinking of Richard Hoggart, Raymond Williams and E. P. Thompson, respectively, from the reading of ‘The uses of literacy’ (1957), ‘Culture and society’ (1958) and ‘The making of the english working-class’ (1963).
