The interpretation of tupinambá religion by materialism and functionalism methodology - DOI: 10.4025/actascihumansoc.v28i1.187
Abstract
This article presents the application of two methodologies in the interpretation of Tupinambá religion. The functionalism leads to the conclusion that religion determined the other levels of society. On theother hand, the materialism approach concludes that it is the economy which determined the other levels, inclu ding the sphere of religion. Both approaches operate with a totality perspective of society. The difference is that the materialism takes into consideration the historical time category.Downloads
