Rediscovering François Guizot
Abstract
Reasons are provided for the rediscovery of François Guizot, an expressive author of French historiography of the first half of the nineteenth century. The principal aim of this study is to show that contemporary historiography abandoned the fundamental lesson of history and life taught by Guizot, or rather, his universal interpretation of human events and, consequently, his idea of civilization.Downloads
